Dhiraagu has renewed its commitment to provide high-speed internet to all Amaan Veshi alternative state care homes and Amaan Hiya temporary shelters across the nation in order to support the education needs of vulnerable children under state care.
Amaan Veshi and Amaan Hiyaa, run under the Family and Children’s Service Centers (FCSC) in the atolls, provide homes for children under state care, including those without parental care, as well as shelters for victims of domestic violence and abuse.
Under the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, Dhiraagu will be providing high-speed Fibre Broadband services to all Amaan Veshi and Amaan Hiyaa under the Ministry of Social and Family Development at B. Eydhafushi, Sh. Funadhoo, HA. Dhidhdhoo, Dh. Kudahuvadhoo, L. Fonadhoo, N. Manadhoo, Lh. Naifaru, Fuvahmulah City, Kulhudhuffushi City and Addu City.
With this support, Dhiraagu aims to assist all 10 FCSCs nationwide to promote digital literacy and address the educational needs of children under state care.
According to Dhiraagu, supporting children and young people is a key focus area under the company’s CSR program.
Under the company’s CSR focus to support children under state care, Dhiraagu has continuously been supporting state care facilities for children over the past several years, including Kudakudhinge Hiyaa in Villimale’.
The company also provides program-based support throughout the year and works closely with NGOs working to empower young people.
