Scam calls impersonating Hajj Corporation MD

Maldives Hajj Corporation’s Managing Director Mohamed Shakeel has warned the public about scam calls impersonating him.

Shakeel, via a post on X, said he had received information that an individual named Abdulla Rasheed, G. Last, was making calls to various individuals impersonating him and seeking money.

Henceforth, Shakeel warned the public that Abdulla Rasheed was making scam calls to various parties seeking large sums of money,

He appealed against answering such calls, adding he has filed a complaint with the Police to investigate the case.

Maldives has seen increased cases involving scams and fraud via social media platforms and other means with victims falling to such crimes losing large sums of money. 

Police have requested individuals falling victim to such incidents to contact them via their hotline at 3322111 or emergency number at 119, and report any suspicious activities also via these contacts.
