Two arrested over truck loaded with stolen batteries

The police have arrested two people after they were found carrying a dozen stolen vehicle batteries on a pickup truck.

A police spokesperson said that officers stopped the truck at the junction of Fareedhee Magu and Chaandhanee Magu at around 06:54 am on Thursday.

The two people arrested in the case are:

  • Mohamed Nizadh, 43, Anas, S. Feydhoo
  • Ali Ahsan, 32, Mercury Light, S. Maradhoo-Feydhoo

The spokesperson said that the police stopped the truck because the actions of the two people in the vehicle “aroused suspicion.”

The police searched the truck and found 12 truck batteries that are believed to be stolen.

The case is under investigation by the police.
