President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, on Thursday, has underscored the importance of mental well-being in order to become an individual who produces results.

The President made the remark via a post on X on the occasion of World Mental Health Day.

In this regard, President Muizzu said mental well-being plays a crucial role in becoming a person who produces results, adding half of good health accounts for mental well-being.

Henceforth, he appealed to the public to pay close attention to their mental wellness.

Mental health illnesses are alarmingly high in the Maldives with a large number of people who wish to seek medical care for their respective illnesses unable to do so with limited resources in the nation.

However, the current administration has launched a 24-hour mental health helpline. Such a helpline was first incepted by Maldives Red Crescent during the COVID-19 pandemic.
