The Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) has partnered with Chinese celebrity Victor Ma and the Tiger Shark Residence, with support from Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) and national airline, Maldivian, to produce a short film promoting global marine conservation.

The film shot in Fuvahmulah is aimed at raising awareness of biodiversity and the urgent need for ocean preservation.

Fuvahmulah, located in the southern tip of the Maldives, is a diver’s paradise known for its crystal-clear waters and diverse marine life.

The film shows Victor diving alongside sharks, emphasizing the harmony between humans and the underwater world while underscoring the natural beauty of the ocean and the importance of conservation efforts. The film further features scenes of beach cleanups during the shooting which serves as a reminder of the critical role public participation plays in protecting marine ecosystems.

MMPRC said Maldivian contributed by facilitating the shoot, providing domestic flights, and presenting equator-crossing certificates to the production team.

“This partnership reflects the ongoing commitment of MMPRC and Maldivian to sustainability and environmental protection in the Maldives,” added the Corporation.

MMPRC underscored that Victor Ma’s participation in the project is expected to amplify global awareness of marine conservation, inspiring collective action to safeguard marine biodiversity and promote a sustainable future for the world's oceans.
