Two migrants detained in raid on Hulhumale’ garage

Maldives Immigration detained two migrant workers on Saturday, in a raid on a garage in Hulhumale’.

In a post on X on Sunday evening, Immigration said the raid was conducted following a social media post claiming that illegal migrants were working at the garage.

The agency said that it detained two migrants who were found to be working illegally in the Maldives.

Immigration and the police have been conducting raids in a special joint operation targeting businesses run by illegal migrants.

Over 3,000 migrants have been deported as part of the crackdown.
