Maldives-Saudi sign MoU to enhance aviation cooperation

The Maldives and Saudi Arabia have entered into an agreement towards enhanced aviation cooperation.

The Maldives Civil Aviation Authority and the General Authority of Civil Aviation Saudi Arabia formally signed the MoU on Thursday at Umluj City.

The Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Mohamed Ameen is currently on an official visit to Saudi Arabia.

Minister Ameen signed the agreement on behalf of the Maldives CAA and Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Transport and Logistics, Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser signed on behalf of the Saudi aviation authority.

The signing ceremony was attended by the President of the General Civil Aviation of Saudi Arabia, Abdulaziz Al-Duailej and senior officials of the Maldives CAA as well.

The agreement focuses on developing safety and security regulations for water aerodromes and seaplanes, ensuring alignment with international standards.

The Transport Ministry added this landmark signing underscores the strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.
