Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer has concluded his official visit to Saudi Arabia.
As per the Foreign Ministry, the visit was aimed at strengthening existing bilateral relations between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia.
During the visit, Minister Zameer met his Saudi Arabian counterpart, Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud.
During the meeting, Minister Zameer delivered a letter from President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Both ministers also held discussions during the meeting which included reflecting on the close ties of friendship and cooperation between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia while centering around strengthening the existing bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as opportunities for increased multilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Minister Zameer also held meetings with other senior officials from the government of Saudi Arabia and the Saudi Fund for Development. He also met with the Maldivian community residing in Riyadh and inquired about their well-being.
He was companied by Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA)’s Governor Ahmed Munawar, Ambassador-at-Large Ahmed Naseer, Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL)’s Managing Director Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed, Joint Secretary Badoora Saeed and Director General Aishath Fareena during the visit.
