President assures listening to youth perspectives

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu said on Monday that the newly established Youth Advisory Board will not have limitations on the areas on which it can provide counsel.

He assured to listen to the youth perspectives and visions on all important matters.

The Presidential Youth Advisory Board's objective is to confer with President Dr. Muizzu on the implementation of the administration's manifesto and important policies, said President's Office.

The board will also identify obstacles and challenges to youth development in various fields, and work towards solutions at the national and regional levels.

Following the official inaugration of the new board, President Muizzu while attending the board's first meeting on Monday afternoon, urged the youth to share their perspectives and visions, as this initiative take its course.

Muizzu said the youths' role in providing feedback on the state's policies was crucial.

"You can provide your perspectives and counsel to me regarding my legal obligations as the head of the state without any limits, for all this falling within the Maldives sovereignty," Dr. Muizzu said while addressing the board's members.

He requested constructive criticism and opinion in all areas to help the administration achieve its objectives and expand the role of youth in the government's decision-making aspects.

The president assured his administration that it would facilitate the suggestions made by the youth.

The board thanked President Muizzu for facilitating the opportunity and shared the board's plans to share the youths' concerns and plights with the government.
