Man arrested for stealing laptops from Finland School, assaulting officer

Police have arrested a suspect for stealing three laptops from Finland International School and assaulting a police officer who tried to stop him.

In a message to the media on Wednesday, Police said two suspects entered the school last Tuesday to commit theft, adding they fled the premises after assaulting a police officer who was on duty who attempted to stop them.

One of the suspects was arrested under court order on Monday night as part of efforts to locate the suspects. Police said the 42-year-old Maldivian woman was remanded in custody by the Criminal Court for 15 days.

As per the Police, three laptops were stolen from the school. They noted that two of the laptops have been recovered while the case is under further investigation. 

While there is a sharp increase in theft and robbery cases recently, most suspects arrested in such cases are youths and middle-aged men.
