Three foreigners arrested from Rasdhoo spa on suspicion of prostitution

Three foreigners have been arrested from a spa in AA. Rasdhoo on suspicion of prostitution.

Police said they received a report of a prostitution ring at ‘Blu Veli Saloon and Spa’ located at Rasdhoo’s Shahilge at approximately 23:30pm last night, which was being operated by leveraging foreigners.

They identified the suspects arrested as a 42-year-old woman, a 27-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man.

Police, noting the spa was not registered with the Economic Ministry, said the case is under investigation.

Earlier this month, Police arrested two foreign females from Male’ City for widescale prostitution.

The arrests came as authorities investigated various establishments across the country, most commonly salons and massage parlors, used as fronts by prostitution rings.

Back in February, Home Minister Ali Ihusan said that the authorities had flagged 111 establishments involved in prostitution, from the Male’ area alone.
