OBLU NATURE Helengeli wins PADI ‘Outstanding Contribution to Female Diving’ Award

OBLU NATURE Helengeli by SENTIDO, a resort managed by Atmosphere Core, and its dive partner, TGI Maldives, have been recognized for their exceptional dedication to female divers, with the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Female Diving’ Award by PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors)

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) said the award by the world's leading scuba diving organization marks a global milestone, being the first of its kind ever presented.

OBLU NATURE Helengeli and TGI Maldives received recognition for creating a welcoming and empowering environment for female divers of all experience levels. From beginners to seasoned professionals, the resort offers a breathtaking location, top-notch PADI-certified dive courses, and exceptional service specifically tailored to women.

PADI's Regional Manager for Maldives, Seychelles and Mauritius, Matt Wenger commented that, "positive promotion and support for female diving has been at the heart of PADI's philosophy since our inception in 1966. PADI is dedicated to promoting diving for all, and as we continue to see a growing trend for women members, there is an ongoing need to further elevate our support with advice and guidance of where in the world are the best dive sites and destinations for female divers.”

The award ceremony, held on the shores of Helengeli Island, was attended by Wenger and the Maldives' Minister of State for Tourism, Dr. Abdulla Niyaz.

To further celebrate female diving, the resort hosted a PADI Women's Dive Day Celebration event from July 14-17, inviting female journalists and instructors.

Niyaz said that “this award reinforces the Maldives' commitment to offering exceptional experiences for all travelers. The ministry congratulates the team at OBLU NATURE Helengeli and TGI Maldives for creating a center of excellence for female diving.”
