Solih thanks government for cooperation rendered in holding mother’s funeral

Former president Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has expressed his gratitude to the government for the cooperation rendered in making arrangements for his mother, Moomina Hassanfulhu’s funeral.

Solih, via a post on X, said he and his family were extremely thankful for the arrangements made by the government for his mother’s funeral, spearheaded by Islamic Minister Dr. Shaheem Ali Saeed.

He also thanked everyone who participated in the funeral and sent condolences and well wishes. 

Moomina was 80-years-old at the time of her passing.

Her funeral prayer held at the Islamic Centre after Maghrib prayer on Thursday was led by her visually impaired son, Moosa Mohamed Solih (Moosabe).

Moomina has 12 children. They include former president Solih, former Hulhumale’ MP Ali Niyaz, Majeedhiyaa School’s Principal Aishath Mohamed Solih, Fathimath Solih who served as personal secretary to former presidents Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom and Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom and three others, who are visually impaired.

All three of her visually impaired children have by-hearted the Holy Quran. They completed Imam course last year as well.
