Maldives Metrological Service (Met Office), on Saturday, has forecasted strong winds and rough seas for north and central Maldives for the majority of the upcoming week.
Many people who traveled to islands for the Eid al-Adha holidays are expected to travel back today as offices and schools are set to reopen tomorrow.
Met Office said the prevailing rain, is expected to stop by Monday.
However, strong winds and rough seas are forecasted for the north and central regions until Wednesday. Meanwhile, calm seas are expected in the southern region.
As per the weather forecast for the upcoming 24 hours, thunderstorms are expected in north and central Maldives. Winds of 12 to 22 miles per hour with gusts of 50 miles per hour have been forecasted for the regions. Seas are expected to be rough with waves of four to seven feet.
Meanwhile, thunderstorms are also expected in southern Maldives with winds of 15 miles per hour. Seas are expected to be moderately rough with waves of two to four feet.
