MTCC begins shore protection in Himandhoo

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Thursday, commenced the physical works of Alif Alif Himandhoo's shore protection.

A special ceremony was held on Thursday morning, attended by MTCC Deputy Managing Director Hassan Mughnee and the constituency's MP Hassan Zareer, who officiated the physical works of the project.

Members of Himandhoo council and locals of the island attended the ceremony.

The project scope includes beach nourishment of 43,200 cubic meters, construction of a 110-meter rock boulder revetment, and the construction of a 235-meter geo-bag revetment.

Additionally, MTCC will install a 90-meter rock boulder groyne, and another 20-meter geo-bag groyne.

The project is valued at MVR 24.54 million.
