200 hectares from Maafalhu to Rasdhoo and Thoddoo

Maafalhu near AA. Rasdhoo has been divided into two parts – with Rasdhoo being awarded jurisdiction of one half and AA. Thoddoo being awarded jurisdiction the other half.

The jurisdiction of Maafalhu was awarded to Rasdhoo and Thoddoo under two presidential decrees issued by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on Sunday; both of which have been published on the government gazette as of present.

As per resolutions, both islands were awarded 200 hectares each from Maafalhu.

The decree read that Rasdhoo and Thoddo were awarded the jurisdiction of Maafalhu under the discretion vested upon the President under the Decentralization Act.

Maafalhu is a lagoon located north of Rasdhoo.

Just last week, President Muizzu placed Maafarufalhu under the jurisdiction of ADh. Mahibadhoo, Galagili under the jurisdiction of AA. Ukulhas and Va'ngaaru under the jurisdiction of HA. Thuraakunu.
