Missing child with disabilities from Maalhos found dead at sea

A child with disabilities has been found dead at sea in AA. Maalhos. 

Maalhos Council President Fazeel Ahmed said to Sun that the child was a 12-year-old girl. The girl was reported missing and later found dead in the lagoon of the island, according to the council.

"Residents were searching for the girl after she was reported lost when she was found at sea on the south side of the island. The child was dead in the lagoon near the house. We have received information that the family did not know about her going swimming," said Fazeel. 

Police said that reports of the child passing away were received around 17:50.

Police are now looking into the matter.
