Maldives kicks off second investment forum in Dubai seeking investors for major projects

Invest Maldives Forum kicked off in Dubai, UAE on Tuesday, with the participation of a large number of investors.

This forum, organized by Invest Maldives and Economic Ministry, aims to bring together investors and business leaders from around the globe and serves as a platform to showcase the unique investment opportunities in the Maldives.

Local businesses are also participating in the forum.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the forum, Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed cited UAE as important partner for the Maldivian business sector.

He added that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s vision for Maldives’ development will create beneficial opportunities for investors.

Important projects put forth at the forum by the government include Thilafushi Port Project and Rasmale’ project.

Numerous other projects have also been put forth including ones pertaining to renewable energy.

Almost 300 investors are taking part in this forum. They will have the opportunity to directly meet the president and specific ministers, upon request.

A similar forum for investors was held in China during President Muizzu’s state visit to the country.

The forum saw many Chinese businesses express interest in projects announced by the president.
