Young man drowns in Fuvahmulah

A young man has died in a drowning accident in the southern city of Fuvahmulah.

According to the police, the victim of a drowning accident at sea was reported to have been taken to the Fuvahmulah Hospital at around 07:30 am on Sunday.

He was identified as a 23-year-old Maldivian male.

The hospital confirms he was already deceased when taken to the hospital, said a police spokesperson.

Police said they are looking into the case.
