President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, on Monday, met with the senior officials of Sinamale’ Bridge contractor, China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC).
The meeting was held as part of President Muizzu’s ongoing state visit to China. The officials had called on the visiting president as a courtesy.
During the meeting, the officials extended a warm welcome to the president upon his visit to China. They also expressed profound gratitude for the enduring support the CCCC has received from the Maldives over the years and keen interest and commitment to contribute to the development initiatives in the Maldives.
Speaking at the meeting, President Muizzu underscored the significance of China as a valued ally and an integral collaborator in the developmental journey of the Maldives. He also expressed aspirations to enhance bilateral relations to new heights and enhance collaborative efforts in various areas of mutual interest.
Concluding the meeting, the officials expressed an optimistic vision for a future filled with prosperity and vibrancy for the Maldivian administration. In turn, President Muizzu reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to nurturing and enhancing the economic and commercial ties between the two nations.
President Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed arrived in China on Monday, on the Maldivian leader’s first state visit since assuming office in November.
They are visiting at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
A high-level delegation of the Maldivian government is accompanying the first couple on this visit.
