Local telecom company Dhiraagu has partnered with India Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH)’s National Centre for Mental Health (NCMH) for the ‘Oevaru’ mental health conference.

The conference, the first initiative of its kind in the Maldives, will be held under the theme ‘Changing Currents: Forming Connections’ from October 15th to October 16th.

It is aimed at bringing mental health to the forefront of public discourse and connecting different stakeholders in the field, including mental health practitioners, service users, carers, policymakers, organizations, and development partners.

The conference is set to feature a range of sessions, including keynote speeches, panel discussions and academic presentations on the latest research and innovative practices in the mental health field, along with current challenges and opportunities, with a call for evidence-based mental health policymaking and investments.

Dhiraagu states the company remains committed to supporting programs and initiatives that aim to address pressing social issues in Maldivian society and enrich the lives of the people living in the nation.
