Man reported missing from Vilingili found 'hiding'

A man reported missing from Gaaf Alif Vilingili has been found safe.

38-year-old Assad Ahmed of Raiyvilla Aage in Villingili, was reported missing to the police at around 01:00 am on Friday, prompting an island-wide search by the authorities, the local council, and locals.

A local said Assad was found "hiding" in a house at the island at around 03:00 am on Saturday.

The house he was found in belongs to one of Assad’s male relatives. However, he and his family now live in Male’, and the house is inhabited by migrant workers.

He was unharmed and in good health when found.
