Uchu donates MVR 1.17M to Hoarafushi International Preschool

Business magnate Mohamed ‘Uchu’ Moosa has donated MVR 1.17 million to the HA. Hoarafushi Preschool.

The donation was presented by Uchu’s daughter Sala Mohamed Moosa to Hoarafushi Council’s President Mohamed Waheed in a ceremony at the Champa Central Hotel in Male’ on Sunday. The ceremony was attended by Hoarafushi MP Ahmed Saleem.

The MVR 1.17 million donation, which includes both financial aid and equipment, was made in response to an appeal made by Hoarafushi residents during Uchu’s visit to the island to attend the Fishermen’s Day function last year.

Uchu, who had previously also aided in the development of the preschool, pledged to provide additional support.

Uchu has donated to Hoarafushi in a number of occasions in the past, including a MVR 4.2 million donation to build an ice plant.
