Applications for President’s Award for Special Achievement to open on Sunday

The President’s Office states that applications for the ‘President's Award for Special Achievement’ will open on Sunday.

The applications will be open from Sunday, April 6th till Thursday, June 1st.

The ‘President's Award for Special Achievement’ is conferred to individuals whose exceptional skills and performance are a source of national pride and who have made substantial contributions to national progress.

This year’s award will feature four categories. They are:

  • Individuals who have attained a Maldives Qualification Authority (MQA) level 10 qualification and for publication of research in an international journal, and those who have completed qualifications between MQA levels 7 and 9 at the highest standard and attained the highest grade for a research project or dissertation
  • Individuals who have excelled or achieved the highest rank in an international competition or exhibition
  • Innovative and enterprising individuals who have presented practical resolutions or outstanding solutions by conducting academic research on critical national challenges
  • Individuals who have demonstrated exceptional creativity and innovation that enhance national development

Youths between the ages of 18 and 15 are eligible for the award.

The applications will be reviewed by the Special Awards Committee incepted by the President for the purpose.
