Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has made arrangements to provide digital license for vehicles via its ‘Sims’ portal.

The ministry created this portal to develop a secure means of providing drivers licenses.

Speaking about this, the ministry said that by using the ‘eFaas’ account, the digital license can be viewed from the portal at any time.

The E-pass is designed for anyone to be able to use and seek services. By using the pass, details such as National ID card information which previously needed to be submitted with applications, would no longer be needed.

Individuals can easily apply for services using their pass, and be able to check in on the progress of the application, as well as be able to verify the information on it.

According to the ministry previously there were issues in license examinations, hence difficulties in obtaining the permits for some. However, with E-pass, a using authenticator will be able to ensure legitimacy of the services.

Furthermore, the ministry noted that since inauguration, the Sims portal has provided 1374 licnences. It was also noted that all applications, both for theory examination and driving had been provided services, and at the moment there are 54 active applications.
