President concludes official visit to Qatar and Germany

Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih returned to Male’ City on Sunday after concluding his official visit to Qatar and Germany.

Several high-level bilateral meetings and engagements in the international arena highlighted the President's visit to the two countries.

In the first leg of his visit, President Solih attended the 5th United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries in Doha, Qatar.

He met with UN secretary-general Antonio Guterres, and several world leaders – including Palestinian President Dr. Mahmoud Abbas, Seychellois President Wavel Ramkalawan, President of Timor-Leste Dr. José Ramos-Horta, Malawian President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić on the sidelines of the conference.

During the second leg of his visit to Germany, President Solih was joined by First Lady Fazna Ahmed. They visited the ITB Berlin 2023 and toured the Cecilienhof Palace in Brandenburg.

He also met with the German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
