Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) has revealed that its employees will be coming into office and working only four days a week during Ramadhan.

According to the office, arrangements have been made for employees to work from home on either Sunday or Thursday every week. However, as office will remain open on these days, only a selected few will be coming in on those days.

Public Prosecutor as well as media official of PGO Ahmed Shafeeu confirmed that only a few selected employees will be working in office on the set days, and that this has been done to grant ease to staff during the month of fasting.

Despite the ease of arrangements, there are repercussions if employees fail to be on time or put in sick days on their work from home days. Those employees will not be granted a home day in the following week. Additionally, should any of the unit's productivity and standard or work drop, all employees will be mandated to resume coming in all days of the week.

It is the norm to minimize official working hours for Ramadan. But this marks the first instance that in office work week days have been decreased as well.
