ADK Hospital, in partnership with the Heat Health and Fitness Center, has opened a wellness club in its premises.
The wellness club was opened in a ceremony Monday, attended by Sports Minister Ahmed Mahloof, ADK Group’s Chairman Ahmed Nashid, and officials from ADK Hospital and Heat.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, ADK Hospital’s Managing Director Ahmed Afaal said the wellness club has the latest fitness equipment, and opens the door to providing holistic healthcare services.
“Up until this point, ADK had been providing medical care. Now, people can come here and maintain their health and fitness. With 35 years of experience in medical care and 21 years of experience in fitness – this club is unlike any other such facility in Maldives,” he said.
Afaal said the standard practice until now had been that work on fitness stopped for injured patients after physiotherapy.
But with this wellness club, the patients who come out of this system will be in better health than before they fell sick.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mahloof said the wellness club will be a useful facility, especially for athletes.
Mahloof said he wishes to facilitate a way for national athletes to make use of the club.
