Foreign Minister Shahid travels to Sri Lanka on official visit

Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid traveled to neighboring Sri Lanka on an official visit on Thursday.

He is undertaking the visit at the invitation of his Sri Lankan counterpart, M.U.M. Ali Sabry, to attend the celebrations for the 75th Anniversary of the Independence of Sri Lanka.

During the visit, Minister Shahid will pay courtesy calls to the Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and Foreign Minister Sabry.

He will also visit the High Commission of the Maldives in Sri Lanka and meet with the Maldivian community living in the neighboring country.

Minister Shahid is accompanied by State Minister for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel, Secretary Bilateral Dr. Hala Hameed, Director at Foreign Ministry Hussain Jahhaz and Assistant Director at Foreign Ministry Aishath Fareena on this trip.
