Applications open for BroadCom membership following Gais’ resignation

The President’s Office, on Thursday, has opened applications for the vacant post of a member as Maldives Broadcasting Commission (BroadCom) following the resignation of former Vice President Ahmed Gais.

Gais resigned on Sunday to partake in the campaign events for the upcoming Maldivian Democratic Party’s (MDP) presidential primary.

In an announcement on Thursday, the President’s Office said that they will be accepting applications on January 22nd and January 23rd from 9:30am to 12:30pm.

The application form is available on the President’s Office’s website and must be submitted alongside the required declaration and criminal and debt record forms.

Following the resignation of Gais, the composition of BroadCom stands as follows;

  • Mariyam Waheeda, President
  • Amjadh Yoosuf, Member
  • Ali Yoosuf, Member
  • Aminath Ameena, Member
  • Mohamed Fazeen, Member
  • Shifla Ibrahim, Member

BroadCom is constituted of seven members – each appointed for a term of five years.
