President: Majeediyya School is an invaluable asset to the development of the nation

The President of the Maldives, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, has said that Majeediyya School is a school that has created lots of amazing alumni that have worked towards and contributed greatly towards national development, and that the Maldivian people should cherish the school and making sure that future generations can benefit from the school.

President Solih said this while speaking at the ceremony held on Tuesday night at Dharubaaruge to commemorate Majeediyya school’s 95-year anniversary.

First Lady Fazna Ahmed, Vice President Faisal Naseem, various government officials, and the school’s alums participated in this ceremony.

The President praised the school, stating that Majeediyya school has had a hand in the development of Maldives since the school's inception and has had alumni at every level of national progress.

He said that the ceremony celebrates 95 years of consistent service, the constant assistance to the education sector of the Maldives, and how the conception of the school, formerly Madhrasathul Salaahiyyaa, on April 19, 1927, marked the beginning of institutional education in the Maldives.

He also remembered and praised the founder of the school, the late Hussain Salahuddin.

He remarked that the school has produced exemplary members of society that have and continue to serve the nation on the front lines in essentially every field conceivable.

In this ceremony the President presented plaques of appreciation to the valuable staff members of Majeediyya School that have served the school diligently for more than 25 years, the First lady presented plaques for staff that served for 20 years and over, and the Vice President presented plaques to the different companies that have provided assistance and sponsorship to Majeediyya School over the years.
