Tourism Minister Dr. Abdulla Mausoom has provided assurance the resort development project in HDh. Naagoshi will begin soon.
Mausoom received a unique welcome upon arrival in HDh. Nellaidhoo on Friday. The islands residents expressed their concern over the lack of a resort in the HDh. Atoll by recycling material to design a ‘resort’ in the island’s harbor area.
Sitting down on one of the ‘beach’ chairs, Mausoom spoke to the people and listened to their concerns.
He later met with members of the local council for discussion.
Mausoom told Sun Saturday morning that he told the councilors the project to develop a resort in Naagoshi is close to the mobilization stage.
“I explained that the project in Naagoshi has reached the point of approvals for mobilization. I explained the timeline,” he said.
Maldives Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) contracted Dubai's R.A.W Galadari to develop a resort in Naagoshi back in March. MTDC has stated practical work on the project will begin in Q4 2022, and will be complete in 2024.
