Met issues yellow alert for southern Maldives

Maldives Meteorological Services (Met Office) on Tuesday issued a yellow alert for the southern region of Maldives.

The yellow alert has been issued from Laamu Atoll to Addu City.

As per the announcement by Met Office, torrential rains, and thunderstorms, with gusts of 45 mph are predicted, from 1230 hrs till 1630 hrs.

Earlier in the day, the authority issued a white alert for the southern area.

In addition to this, a white alert has been issued from Kaafu Atoll to Thaa Atoll.

For this region, Met office predicted heavy rains and thunderstorms with gusts of 40 mph between 1300 hrs toll 1900 hrs.

With the deterioration of the weather, all, especially seafarers are advised to be cautious.
