A boat from GDh. Madaveli weighed 57.152 metric tons of tuna at the Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO)’s Kooddoo Fisheries Complex on Wednesday, breaking the record for the highest catch weighed in a single day using pole and line fishing.
MIFCO’s CEO Ismail Fauzi congratulated the captain and crew of TS Line in a tweet Thursday morning, noting the boat made the accomplish despite the bad weather Wednesday.
TS Line earned MVR 971,584 for its catch Wednesday.

Fauzi noted TS Line also holds the record for the highest catch weighed by MIFCO in 2021, with 1,095.805 metric tons of tuna.
According to MIFCO, TS Line has weighed 302 metric tons of tuna at the MIFCO Kooddoo Fisheries Complex from August to September 29, earning MVR 5.07 million this fishing season.
