A 102-year-old, one of Maldives’ oldest, passes away

An individual amongst the oldest living people in the Maldives passed away on Friday night.

The deceased has been identified as Mohamed Shaugy, Kashmeer, GA. Maamendhoo. He was 102.

Shaugy’s family told Sun that he passed away suddenly, of old age. At the time of his death, he was residing in capital Male’ City along with his family.

Shaugy’s funeral prayer will be held after Fajr prayer at Masjid al-Taqwa (Aasahara Cemetry).

A man, also amongst the oldest living people in the Maldives, had passed away in January as well.

Ali Sulaiman, Fathagumaage, Fuvahmulah City, passed away at the age of 106.
