Avid College-Economic Ministry offers free IT programmes

From the agreement signing between Avid College and Economic Ministry.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Avid College has signed an agreement to provide free IT programmes under the ministry’s Covid Income Support Project.

During a ceremony held at the Economy Ministry on Monday, June 6, the agreement was signed by both parties.

In addition to Avid College, the ministry has signed with five other institutions on the same day.

According to the information shared on the ministry's Job Center, four programmes will be offered under this initiative.

IT Programmes offered under the agreement:

-        Cloud and Cyber Security

-        Multimedia

-        Server and Networking

-        Web design and Development.

Vice-Rector of Avid College Ali Rasheed informed Sun that these programmes will be available from the Male’ and Thinadhoo campuses.

“We are trying to offer in other bigger islands apart from this as well.”

Programmes offered under Covid Support Project do not take any fees. Instead, those selected are bring given an allowance of MVR 6000-5000.
