President appoints ambassadors to Japan, Belgium and the EU

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed Hassan Sobir as the Maldivian Ambassador to Japan and Omar Abdul Razzak as the Maldivian Ambassador to Belgium and the Mission of Maldives to the European Union (EU).  

President Solih presented the Sobir and Omar with their letters of credence at a ceremony held at the President’s Office on Monday.

Prior to the appointment, Sobir served as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Maldives to Belgium and as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Head of Mission ofMaldives to the EU.  

President Solih made the appointment at the minister’s level.

Meanwhile, Omar had previously served as the High Commissioner of Maldives to Sri Lanka.  

His new appointment was made at the state minister’s level.
