“With this change, City Council is presently working in allocating an additional space to develop a temporary market. Should a suitable place not be found, only one of the two temporary markets planned for Male’ City, for this Ramadan, will be developed. It has also been decided that a temporary market will be developed at Vilimale’,” they had said.
The two temporary markets planned for Male’ City, for this Ramadan, was to be located at Dharubaaruge area and Rasfannu Parking Zone.
The Council said that they made the decision to develop temporary markets for Ramadan as to ease difficulties the public may face in purchasing food products due to overcrowding at existing local markets.
They stressed that the establishment of a temporary market at Vilimale’ will save residents living at the district from having to travel to Male’ for shopping.
