Maldives records two COVID-19 fatalities today, death toll at 294

Maldives has recorded two COVID-19 fatalities today.

According to Health Protection Agency (HPA) the first COVID-19 fatality recorded today was that of a 97-year-old Maldivian woman who was being treated at Addu Covid Management Facility. She passed away at 5:15pm this evening.

The second COVID-19 fatality recorded today was that of an 81-year-old Maldivian man who was being treated at GDh. Covid Management Facility. He passed away at 6:54pm this evening.

With two COVID-19 fatalities today, the death toll of Maldives has been increased to 294.

Within the last 24 hours, HPA announced 971 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 167,496.     

Meanwhile, 310 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 151,319. 

With the new developments, Maldives now has 15,871 active cases.      

There are 29 patients in hospitals.
