Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has stated that discussions were underway to form a management corporation comprising of Hiyaa Flat owners.

HDC said that they have established a corporation to oversee and manage the 6,720 flats situated at 16 towers developed in Hulhumale’ Phase II, under the Hiyaa Housing Project.

As per the flat agreements, all flat owners must become a member of the corporation.

Prior to this, the Corporate Societies’ Act was followed regarding such matters. However, with the enactment of the Strata Act last December – the law governs matters on maintenance and management of buildings.

HDC said that they were discussing with relevant authorities how to structure and proceed with the management corporation established to oversee and manage the 16 Hiyaa Flat towers.

They noted that once a decision has been made regarding the matter, it will be announced to the public.
