MMC and Indian High Commission discuss training opportunities for local journalists in India

Maldives Media Council (MMC) has held discussions with the High Commission of India in Maldives regarding training opportunities for local journalists in India.

The discussions were attended by High Commissioner of India to the Maldives Munu Mahawar and Deputy High Commissioner of India to the Maldives Rohit Rathish on behalf of the High Commission. MMC’s attendees were President Shahuban Fahumy, Member Ali Hussain, Member Ibrahim Fauzy, member Mohamed Shafaau Hassan and Secretary General Dr. Ibrahim Sameer.

MMC said that discussions were held regarding sending local journalists to India for training programs and bringing experts from Indian educational institutes to Maldives in order to conduct training programs. They also noted that holding online training programs was also discussed.

In addition to this, MMC said that the facilitation of long-term and short-term scholarship programs for local journalists was also discussed.

They further added that the High Commissioner had given full assurance to facilitate more training opportunities for local journalists.
