MTCC granted Gdh.Gadhoo harbour repair project

Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure and Maldives Transport and Contracting Company on Tuesday signed the project to repair Gdh.Gadhoo harbour.

During a ceremony held at Planning Ministry to hand over the project, Permanent Secretary Zeeniya Hameed and MTCC’s CEO Adam Azim signed the paperwork on behalf of the ministry and MTCC respectively.

The project awarded on a design and build basis has to be completed within a year.

Under the project, an area of 13,498 cubic meters, and another 9,519.20 cubic meter area that is to be added to the harbour will be dredged.

Repair work includes building an outer seawall of 232-meters and a 320-meter breakwater as per MTCC.

Additionally, a 35-meter reverent, installing two navigation lights, 25 mooring lights, and paving a 1,600-meter area, with 16 lights.

 

The project amounts to a total of MVR 38.4 million.
