Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has announced the full completion of the shore protection project at HA. Dhidhdhoo.
MTCC said that the project was completed on October 21. Physical work on the project was commenced by the company on February 28 – after being contracted for the project by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure in November 2020.
Valued at MVR 10.2 million – the scope of work under the project included backfilling of 7,750 cubic meters of sand; 1,926 cubic meters of sand for filling geo bags and construction of a 310m geo bag revetment to prevent coastal erosion.
So far this year – MTCC has completed 17 projects.
Since its inception in 1980 – MTCC has played an integral role in the infrastructural development of the Maldives.
