COVID-19: 113 new cases; 1,279 active cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Tuesday, announced 113 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 86,324.      

According to HPA, the 113 new cases include; 36 cases from the greater Male’ region, 69 cases from residential islands outside Male’, six cases from operational resorts and two cases from liveaboards.

Meanwhile, 75 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 84,793.    

With the new developments, Maldives now has 1,279 active cases.      

There are 17 patients in hospitals.      

3,636 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,339 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at 1 percent.

Maldives has recorded 239 COVID-19 deaths.
