BML partners with top mental health institutes to offer support programs for staff

Bank of Maldives (BML) reiterated its commitment to promoting positive mental wellbeing in the workplace on Sunday, signing partnerships with leading mental health service institutions in Maldives to provide support programs and professional services for its employees nationwide. 

BML signed partnership agreements with Thibaa Psychology, Society for Health Education (SHE) and Institute of Mental Well-being (IMWB) on Sunday afternoon, on occasion of World Mental Health Day.

BML said that the program will offer regular consultations and counselling programs for its employees. The bank will cover the cost of individual consultation sessions for employees and encourage employees to seek the services of professionals in mental wellbeing.  

The program will also offer regular awareness sessions on parenting, work life balance and mental wellbeing at the workplace. 

BML’s Deputy CEO Aishath Noordeen said that the bank was proud to announce its partnership with the leading mental health service providers to ensure their employees get easy access to quality mental health care and effective treatments. 

She added that the bank hopes to see other organizations follow suit to recognize and promote the importance of mental wellbeing in the workplace. 

"With increased recognition of the importance of mental health across the world, and the tremendous impact Covid-19 had on mental well-being, it is fitting that we, as one of the largest employers in the country, take this important step today,” she said. “We look forward to seeing other organizations follow suit to recognize and promote the importance of mental wellbeing for employees everywhere.”
