Mini-hospital to be established at Sh. Milandhoo

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has announced that the government has decided to establish a mini-hospital at Sh. Milandhoo.

The decision was announced during a meeting held with Shaviyani Atoll Council at Sh. Fonadhoo – as part of the President and the First Lady’s ongoing tour of Shaviyani and Raa Atoll.

During today’s meeting, President and the Council discussed atoll development plans the vital concerns and needs of Shaviyani Atoll residents.

One of the main concerns raised in this regard was pertaining to the lease of uninhabited islands from the atoll for resort development – where the Council requested the government’s aid in expediting the resort development projects in these islands.

The Council also stressed the resident's need for improved transportation facilities – along with improvement of the services provided in the Atoll Hospital and the expansion of the Atoll Education Centre.

In response to this, President Solih assured that the government will work collaboratively to find speedy solutions for these matters.

Discussions were also held regarding the ongoing development projects in the atoll – where President Solih noted that the government had completed the collection of bids for the airport development project at Bilehfahi. He also noted that the government was working to enable nighttime travel at Funadhoo Airport – as well as establishing a mini-hospital at Milandhoo.

Funadhoo is the first destination in the President and the First Lady’s ongoing trip to eight islands in Shaviyani and Raa Atoll.

They are accompanied by cabinet ministers, senior executives from the President’s Office, and a delegation of high-level government officials on this trip.
