Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has decided that unused revenue stamps will be refunded.

The use of revenue stamps in the Maldives was ceased back in July subsequent to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih ratifying the legislature to repeal the law on the use of revenue stamps on official documents.

Following this, on Sunday, MIRA had announced they will be refunding all unused revenue stamps bought – as they can no longer be used.

Accordingly, those who wish to be refunded for unused revenue stamps have been instructed by the authority to fill the form ‘Request to Refund Revenue Stamps’, and submit it to the Taxpayer Service Center along with the documents required in the form prior to November 15.

Those who are residing outside of the Male’ area can submit the said form and documents to MIRA offices established in their respective islands.
