The parliament’s Committee on National Development And Heritage overseeing the awarding of flats under the Hiyaa Housing Project in Hulhumale’ has determined that the Flat Committee formed under the President's Office had not correctly determined the condition and standard of living of applicants for the flats when evaluating the applicants.

The Parliamentary committee probed the policy to award flats under the housing project. It found that the Flat Committee had not correctly determined or taken into account the standard of living of applicants regarding complaints submitted to the state institutions.

The Committee then proposed a correct evaluation of the standard of living of those applicants.

The Flat Committee had initially stated that it had fully addressed inquiries and complaints regarding the flats, however, the parliamentary committee determined that it could not confirm this and instructed the committee to address the complaints adequately and address such complaints fully.
