Man who went to a guesthouse to meet a woman stripped naked, robbed

Maldives Police have launched an investigation after a man who went to a guesthouse in Male’ City to meet a woman was robbed, and then stripped naked and photographed by the woman and two cohorts.

The incident took place at a guesthouse located in Javaahiru Goalhi on January 23.

A police spokesperson told Sun on Wednesday that the man was robbed of his phone and the money in his wallet before he was stripped naked.

“A case has been lodged involving a man who, after he was mugged by the woman and two cohorts, was stripped naked, taken photos and videos of, which was used to threaten and blackmail him, forcing him to transfer over money in his bank account,” said the spokesperson.

The police did not specify the amount of money extorted from the victim.

The police have arrested three suspects in connection to the case on allegations of kidnapping, production of pornographic content, threatening, and blackmail.

The suspects are:

  • Aishath Nazma, 39, H. Samoa, Male’
  • Abdulla Zain, 27, M. Percyvilla, Male’
  • Hassan Moosa, 34, M. Gap, Male’

They were presented before the Criminal Court for their remand hearing on January 26. The court established they were arrested lawfully and ordered for them to be remanded in custody for 15 days.
