The Parliament Committee on National Security Services has passed the Police Service Bill which will exempt police officers from exercising three basic rights.

The Committee which evaluated the bill has now forwarded the bill to the parliament. According to the current bill, rights granted under the constitution can be narrowed to the necessary standards in the case of police officers as stipulated in the bill.

The rights granted under the constitution narrowed under the bill include Article 27, related to the right to freedom of expression, Article 31, the right to protest and strike and Article 32, related to the right to assembly.

Rights related to voting are still upheld. However, police participation in political parties and conducting political activity are not granted.
